For those who know me well, they understand my passion for the paleo lifestyle. It has truly changed the way I look not only at food but also at life! There is so much we do not know about the types of food we put in our body and how refined foods react with our body. Mark’s Daily Apple is one of the top paleo blogs out there and he made a good infographic explaining this a bit more in depth:
I am ALWAYS trying to get people to eat better and the best way of doing this is by getting back to our roots. The Paleo lifestyle is a great balance of healthy fats, proteins (a lot of bacon which is always a thumbs up), and some carbs. I think the biggest fear I had going into Paleo was eating more fats. The fact of “fats don’t make you fat” was very difficult for me to grasp but learning about the differences in fats and how the calorie density affects our hunger is what truly made me understand it. Here is a link that discusses that a bit more:
Paleo is also just fun! It is cool to see the different foods that are more simple and how reading ingredients truly make us feel better about what you are putting into your body. I am always up for answering any questions about Primal Living and how I lost 130 pounds in one year on this thing!
